You poor thing! It does get better (though arms and legs similtaneously sounds hard). I showered and changed my compression tights every day post op and had MLD a few times a week from day 2. I sprayed all my incisions with antiseptic wound spray and took painkillers before putting the tights back on. My bruising was very vivid. I took arnica when i remembered. Bruising went in 2-3 weeks. Good luck!
It gets better—tomorrow is day 14 for me and the pain was awful till day 10. My toes. Turned black and the pain woke me up. It is something you just have to go through. Careful when taking off the compression to shower (which I recommend with antibacterial soap as I got an infection). Have someone around. It changes your blood pressure so you get very woozy. Also be aware the blood loss from draining can be quite extreme. I thought I would die at first given the amount of blood I lost. It gets better! Good luck!
I wanted to shower. But never did. I resigned to using a wash cloth and water. Getting the contact off and on was just too much 4 days post, and I couldn’t stand straight. I washed my hair over the sink though. That made me feel so much better about myself.
My surgeon says to remove stockings and shower daily. Unless there is clinical need I don’t recommend antibacterial shower gel/soap as it affects the natural skin flora. Plain soap is much better and then spray wounds with gentle octenicept. I don’t like to get hair products on wounds either. A cheap stool in the shower is ideal to avoid this and helps with dizziness and confidence.
I would be very careful in the shower you can go very dizzy

Do you mean your feet are dirty, if they are turning black not because of that, seek a GP ASAP or hospital if it’s evening xxx Keep your legs elevated, with little walks when you can manage around the room, MLD when you can xx stroke your legs often to help stimulate the nerves xxx
